How it works

Note taking without an account means no form to fill in and no email to confirm. Three steps are enough.

  1. Get a key

Press start. Ushkur gives you a random, strong key. That key is your account.

  2. Write your notes

Notes save as you type. Sort them into categories and search them any time.

  3. Come back with your key

Enter the same key in any browser and your notes are there. Keep the key somewhere safe.

What you get

  • Categories

Sort your notes into up to 50 categories.

  • Search

Search titles, subtitles and note text.

  • Autosave

Notes save as you type. You can also save by hand.

  • Trash

Deleted notes stay in the trash for 30 days, so you can restore them.

  • Dark mode

Light, dark, or automatic to match your device.

  • Installable app

Add it to your home screen and open it like an app. Loading notes needs a connection.

  • Turkish and English

The interface comes in both languages.

An encrypted online notepad: what it protects, what it does not

To be honest: Ushkur does not offer end-to-end encryption. This is how your notes are handled:

  • No account details

No email, username or phone number is asked. The server stores an irreversible hash of your key, not the key itself.

  • Encrypted on the server

Titles, subtitles and text are stored encrypted on the server. The service itself holds the encryption key, so this is not end-to-end encryption.

  • Limits, free for now

50 MB, 2,000 notes and 50 categories per account. Notes are plain text. The service is free for now.

Heads up: a lost key cannot be recovered. There is no reset by email or phone. Keep your key somewhere safe.

Frequently asked questions

Can I really use Ushkur with no sign-up?

Yes. It asks for no email, username or phone number. You press start, get a key, and that key is your account.

What happens if I lose my key?

You cannot reach your notes again. The key is stored only as a hash and there is no reset by email or phone; the operator cannot reset it either. If you are still signed in on another device, you can copy your notes there.

Are my notes encrypted?

Titles, subtitles and text are stored encrypted on the server. The service itself holds the encryption key, so this is not end-to-end encryption.

Is it free, and are there limits?

It is free for now. Each account can hold 50 MB, 2,000 notes and 50 categories, and the text of a single note can be up to 500 KB.

Can I use it on my phone?

Yes. It works in a phone browser and can be added to the home screen as an app. Loading your notes needs an internet connection.
