Is there an online notepad with no sign up?
Short answer
Yes, Ushkur is an online notepad with no sign up: no email address and no username, only a key. That key is your whole account, so keep it safe.
How does an online notepad with no sign up work?
Ushkur has no registration form. You start from the home page, get a random strong key (or type your own passphrase of 12 to 128 characters), and that key becomes your account. No email, username or phone number is asked.
The steps are short:
- Press the start button and get a key.
- Save the key in a password manager or in the .txt file the app offers to download.
- Confirm that you saved it, create the account and start writing.
Why does it not ask for an email?
The key does the job of both username and password. The server stores only an irreversible hash of the key, not the key itself, so it does not need to know who you are.
Ushkur does not create an account the moment you type a key it does not know. It first asks whether you made a typo, and the account is created only after you retype the key to confirm. On the sign-in and account creation screens, a Cloudflare Turnstile bot check runs in the background.
What is the catch with note taking without an account?
Having no email also means some things are missing. It is better to know them before you start:
- A lost key cannot be recovered. There is no reset by email or phone.
- Notes are encrypted on the server, but this is not end-to-end encryption.
- Notes are plain text. There is no sharing, no real-time collaboration and no image upload.
- Notes are not stored on your device, so you need an internet connection to reach them.
- Each account can hold 2,000 notes, 50 categories and 50 MB.
How do I open my notes on another device?
Enter the same key in any browser. You can also install Ushkur to your home screen as an app, which still needs a connection to load your notes.
Categories, search, a 30-day trash, a dark theme and Turkish and English interfaces are included. If you ever want to sign out everywhere, use the log out on all devices option in the account menu.

Frequently asked questions
Is this online notepad really free?
It is free for now, within the limits of 2,000 notes, 50 categories and 50 MB per account. A single note can hold up to 500 KB of text.
What happens if I lose my key?
Your notes cannot be reached again. The key is stored only as a hash and there is no email or phone recovery, so nobody, including the operator, can reset it. If you are still signed in on another device, open your notes there and copy the text.
Does using it with no sign up mean my notes are public?
No. Notes can be opened only with your key. They are encrypted on the server, but the service holds the encryption key, so this is not end-to-end encryption.
Can I use it on my phone?
Yes. It works in a mobile browser and can be installed to the home screen. It needs an internet connection to load your notes.

Can I keep private notes without an email address?
Yes, Ushkur lets you keep private notes without an email, and no name, email or phone number is stored with your account. Anonymous note taking here means an anonymous account, not an anonymous connection.
How does the Ushkur key work, and what if I lose it?
The key is your account: you enter it to sign in, and the server stores only a hash of it. A lost key cannot be recovered, because there is no email or phone to reset it with.
